so i recently went to my fifth nywc which happened to be in atlanta this year. it was dope. off the chains. mostly because of the sweet conversations i got to have with the 10 of us that went this year. i am going to process some of what i want to remember, and i will try to give credit to who said what when i can.

what a fun life
10 07 2009i just spent the day with 60 crazy teenagers and adults driving forever in a freezing bus to raft down a freezing river with insane guides who intentionally tried to drown us.
and it was insane and beautiful and so much fun. i seriously dont know how anyone could think they could have more fun without Jesus in their life. how could anything be better? there is no substance – no thing i could hold in my hand to compare to the joy Jesus gives me simply because He loves me.
and now i am laughing my head off at this ridiculous podcast my boss and i made which is live on our youth website. and it is kind of funny. hilarious really. especially if you listen all the way until the end.
seriously – life is fun. bored? depressed? sick of trying to be satisfied with junk you can see or hold? let me know.
we could get coffee sometime.
what a sweet God we get to enjoy. amen!

i am so glad we dont worship youth ministry like this anymore
8 04 2009click on ‘ignatius’ below and watch this video. it is a joke made by student life for a youth pastor convention but it illustrates what so many youth ministries around this country are striving for.
