six years ago i started working with this crazy group of students. they were just starting the 7th grade – i was a young and naive 20 year old. now six years later, those same students are slowly trickling off to college all around the country. i have been able to grow and expand my perception of what ministry and life look like. it hasnt been a perfect six years, but it sure has been full. and good. and while i am sad to see them go [for sure it will be weird doing youth events without this bunch - ive never done youth without them] – i am also very excited to see what comes for these next six years.
goodbye fathom grads :: thanks for a great six years

B2SR-10 debrief :: imperfect perfection
22 08 2010i just got home from Back-to-School Retreat 2010. i have been in this place many times before. this was my 8th or 9th B2SR. i have been in this state of tension after the storm many times before. i have been in silence after being around hundreds of people for 50 hours straight many times before. i have been here before.
but this time its different.
no really.
